At Westpac International Trade, as one of our core business services, we are focused on the promotion and trade of green and clean technologies that can help in the advancement of protection of the environment and improvement in life quality of the country populations.
We are building a portfolio of focused companies and government clients in SE Asia and the Americas, that are committed to a more sustainable material supply chain, built on ecologically sound products, with Environmental, Social, and Governance(ESG) principles.
Our channel development services, for the technology brand holders, can help with new to market export strategies, and cost effective revenue generation, by being your On The Ground Team in SE Asia.
We utilize our primary expertise in the sciences, construction materials, agriculture and business, to do the best job possible for the brand holder and buyer clients, to make sure there is a balance of value proposition.
Two main initiatives of are company are; 1) bringing LEED (https://leed.usgbc.org/ ), standard building materials to new and renovation building designs and construction, in the ASEAN markets, and 2) sourcing sustainable material food packaging and eating utensils, made in SE Asia, to the North American country markets of US, Canada, and Mexico.

Opportunity in SE Asia
The SE Asia region has over 800 million people and is growing quickly in GDP and also pollution. There is a distinct need to advance on strategies for green applications in the public and private sector.
Asia markets have a growing problem in pollution of environments, and governments have made strong commitments to doing their parts to address Climate Change... Many countries, like the Philippines, are awash in plastic waste, just to name one market.
However, According to Bain & Company Consulting in Singapore, "despite the efforts of governments, corporations, and investors to reinforce their climate commitments, it has not been sufficient to keep Southeast Asia on track. Achieving its reduction targets will require over $1.5 trillion in cumulative investment by 2030 versus the mere $5.2 billion in green capital flows observed in 2022. "
So, this speaks to the opportunity to advance western technologies into the region, to help in this inevitable need and application.
In addition to our bilateral trade opportunities, we also recognize the need to help western markets, like the USA, with reducing plastic waste in markets like Food Service and Food & Beverage.
We are focused on providing a trade service providing environmentally sustainable packaging items that can service the Americas and EU, The Americas are heavy users of plastics, and are actively seeking cost effective food packaging and utensils, that are biodegradable. There are excellent, and cost effective packing and food service products being made in the SE Asia region. They are typically made of naturals materials, such as paper, agricultural materials, like rice, or food production bi product materials.

Green technology is an umbrella term that describes the use of technology and science to create products and services that are environmentally friendly. It can also refer to clean energy production.
Green technologies are designed to protect ecosystems and endangered species, reduce carbon emissions, and conserve natural resources. Examples of green tech include solar power, electric vehicles, sustainable agriculture, and carbon capture.
Cleantech refers to any technology that helps reduce environmental damage from existing technologies or improve the environmental quality of polluted natural resources. Sometimes the phrases “Greentech” and “eco-technology” are used interchangeably with cleantech.
Green Tech and Clean Tech help us to fight climate change, restore nature, and grow sustainably.
Westpac international Trade has a green tech focus on providing the building materials product lines that meet LEED and other globally recognized standards, into SE Asia country markets, such as Vietnam and the Philippines.
As well, to achieve a reduction of the carbon footprint, by methods of saving energy, which reduces coal usage at power plant. Also in products that have less impact on the environment in their production. Which is more of a social responsibility position.
North America has some leading technologies that the Asian markets can use to improve green initiatives and improve the environment and lifestyles in their ever-increasing population bases. Green building strategies ensure the health and safety of people, as well as provide resilience to natural disasters, climate change, and resource consumption and management.
Product Standards for Green Tech Building Materials
Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) has remained the leading green building certification system for decades. Architects and designers of SE Asia are now moving towards green solutions in construction and other specification, as their governments have made pledges towards climate affects. Having established the five major categories of: site, water, energy, materials, and indoor environmental quality, LEED creates a balanced assessment of a project’s environmental and health impacts.
There are also competing certification systems challenging the pre-eminence of LEED. These included the International Green Conservation Code (IgCC) and the International Energy Conservation Code (IECC).
Both the IgCC and LEED provide frameworks for designing and constructing buildings in a way that minimizes their environmental impact. However, IgCC is focused specifically on construction, whereas LEED covers the entire lifecycle of a building, including its operation and maintenance.
The IgCC emphasizes building performance, including features such as a requirement for building system performance verification along with building owner education, to ensure the best energy-efficient practices are being carried out.
